How to get to Zermatt

Zermatt is located in the South of Switzerland, 234 km (145 miles) from Geneva, the nearest airport and 280 km (174 miles) from Zurich. Travel time by train from Geneva is 3.5 hours and from Zurich it is 4 hours and 40 minutes. There are direct train connections in Brig and Visp to the modern narrow-gauge Matterhorn Gotthard railway, which arrives in Zermatt after a 90-minute journey through the romantic, rugged Vispa Valley. The resort is 148 km (92 miles) from Montreux.

How to get to Zermatt by car:
Zermatt is a car-free resort. Access for private transport is only allowed as far as Täsch (5km from Zermatt). The road from Täsch to Zermatt is not open to public transport. Secure parking is available in Täsch.
