Alpine Passes Trail Hike
The Alpine passes route has been opened as a new national long distance footpath in Spring 2008 as part of the «SchweizMobil» project. It begins in Chur, crosses through the anterior Rhine gorge and the Lugnez valley and continues on over the high plateaus of the Greina to Tessin. The route runs through Ritomsee, Val Bedretto and the Nufenenpass to Wallis. Walkers can see the high peaks at close hand over the Brig – Zinal section and marvel at the powerful panoramic views of the Walser 4000m mountains including the Matterhorn. The route is suitable for experienced walkers in good health.
