Signposting
The skating land area covers approx. 600km of perfectly signposted national routes as well as an additional 400 km of regional routes. The signs are red like the cycle signs but the route numbers are in violet.

Route Guides
All national and regional skating routes are detailed in the two «Skatingland Switzerland» guides (published by WERD Verlag, german and french version).

Requirements
The 3 national skating routes are mainly flat throughout and are not subject to any specific requirements. The Mittelland Skate, however, leads through the gentle hills and requires safe braking techniques to be applied.

Hiring inline skates
Inline skates can be hired from various sports shops and from the Zürich and Biel train stations.
