Switzerland Chocolate Train

The Switzerland Chocolate Train is a cheese and chocolate theme train from Montreux to Gruyeres and to Broc. This Chocolate Train Tour includes the Cailler Chocolate factory, a visit to the cheese factory and time to explore Gruyeres and its castle. You will travel in 1st class on the elegant Belle Époque Pullman cars or in a modern panoramic train composition. It is a full day tour and operates from May until October 12. In July and August it operates every day. In May, June, September and October it does on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The reservation fee for the Chocolate Train includes a seat reservation, all transfers, and entries to the Cheese Factory, to the Cailler Chocolate Factory, and a morning cafe & croissant.  The visit to the magnificent castle of Gruyeres is not included, but you have time to visit the castle on your own.  Upon arrival in Gruyeres you will visit the Maison du Gruyeres where you learn about the production of this famous Swiss cheese. Then you visit the medieval town of Gruyeres and have time to stroll around, have lunch and visit the castle. In the afternoon you will reach Broc and the famous Chocolate Factory of Cailler. You will discover the secrets of Swiss Chocolates and get to enjoy a high flavored tasting.

During the Chocolate Train Tour you will train through one of Switzerland’s most scenic area which includes Lavaux. The vineyards in the Lavaux area of Switzerland are a UNESCO World Heritage site. They cover more than 2,000 acres of terraced slopes overlooking Lake Geneva. Originally planted by mediaeval monks 800 years ago these plants have beautified the area for a long time. They produce excellent wines, especially from the Chasselas grape.
