Kartause Ittingen provides 68 modern and stylish hotel rooms. Nestled in the unspoilt landscape of the river Thur and surrounded by vineyards and orchards, the former Charterhouse inspires with its calming yet powerful atmosphere.

Within the monastery’s authentically preserved and restored walls you will find the Thurgau Art Museum, the Ittingen Museum, a farm estate with its own garden, viticulture, butchery and cheese dairy, as well as a wood oven bakery. Restaurant Mühle with its adjacent idyllic garden is an inviting spot to linger and enjoy a well-deserved break.

The monastery grounds are a car-free zone, with ample parking space available free of charge. Various free beverages, museum admissions, bike rental and a local breakfast buffet are included when staying at the hotel. Kartause Ittingen offers sheltered employment for sixty people and trains twenty apprentices for eight different professions.

Located between forest and garden, the cosy garden rooms come with either balcony or terrace. Floor-to-ceiling windows and pine wood floors offer additional convenience.

Single Room With Garden View (12m2): Monastic but modern room with larch wood furnishings and wooden floor. View of the former monastery and the 80-year-old walnut tree.

Design Room: The pared-down design creates an atmosphere of puristic simplicity and calm. Special architectural features are the cast concrete floor and the walk-in cube made of exclusive elm wood.

Grand Lit (15m2): Comfortable and elegant room with French bed (140cm), situated at the edge of the forest, with view of the countryside and the former monks’ cells.

Family Design Room (30m2): Our family room for 2 adults in a double bed with 1-2 children aged 1-12 years in a folding wall bed or for 3 adults. Additional bed is possible.

Mini Suite (32m2): The attic mini suite with its comfy sitting area offers plenty of space for your well-being. Captivating view of the restored monks’ cells and the romantic north farm.
