Route from Kleine Scheidegg

All Mt. Jungfrau train excursions leave from Kleine Scheidegg, which is accessible via either Grindelwald or via Wengen / Lauterbrunnen. The cog-wheel train leaves from the Kleine Scheidegg station every 30 minutes for the Jungfraujoch / Top of Europe train station.

Duration of excursion

The minimum time to visit Mt. Jungfrau is 5 hours including round-trip transportation from Interlaken. The cog-wheel train takes approximately 1 hour 15-30 minutes from either Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen and a little bit less from Wengen to the top of the Jungfraujoch station. The return journey, via the same route, takes about the same amount of time. We recommend spending a minimum of two-hours at the top, enjoying the views, sharing a meal, exploring a hiking path, photographing the spectacular views, checking out the glaciers, etc. For guests staying in Interlaken we recommend to ascend via Grindelwald and descend via Wengen / Lauterbrunnen.
